To some, they say it is a passion. Some say it is an obsession. Some even go as far as calling it an addiction. We say it is anticipation. It is the anticipation of casting a lure into the abyss and waiting for the tug. Many times it's a bust and few casts end with the feel of the slightest thump. However, this is what drives us to do it all over again - with a different approach. We question ourselves if the technique, lure, presentation, action, profile, color or all of the above played a role in the fish’s decision to take the bait.

Throughout the years, our team has modified traditional lures to fit the needs of our fishing style. From a simple black sharpie pen mark across the lateral line of a crankbait to drilling holes into a lure to add weights so it will descend ever so slightly or to offset the balance just a touch, we have done it.  This eventually led to customized rod building for fit, feel, and finish.  Building our own rods allowed us to truly choose the rod blank and specs of choice, identify correct spine alignment, customize guide and reel seat placement, and create our own handle design. 

From these experiences, we decided that we should share these customized tackle with our fellow anglers, hence the inception of Ballzy Baits Gryphon Tackle. 

We have worked diligently to bring you the best. The products you see here are the models we have the most confidence in and we'll put them up against any big box store's products.  We make every effort to put quality hardware and formulation to make products that will give you, the angler, the best experience while playing tug-a-war with whatever species you’re after.
